I had been a witness of one interesting dialogue between Andrei and Sergei.
It took place at the apartment of Sergei’s old friends, Neli Dolidze and Yuri Barabadze. Three of them were sitting at the table laid for tea, the greats
– Andrei and Sergei and also Sergei’s neighbor – Rusiko, former dancer.
Sergei: “Andrei, you are undoubtedly talented director, a very talented one, but… you are not a genius.”
Tarkovski was puzzled by his remark.
“Cause you are not a homosexual and you’ve never been jailed” – explained himself Parajanov.
